We were in Bali for 2 nights in the most amazing Airbnb and one full day of exploration. Flight fare from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was $40 and the ticket out to Singapore was $63. We stayed at this Airbnb in Seminyak for $621, 6 guests, and two of us did this Airbnb experience for $110 total.
We got to Bali at night, my friends flew in from Thailand and I did from Malaysia (because I left them in Bangkok in the wee hours to spend the day in Kuala Lumpur) then we took a shuttle to the our Airbnb. The house was in Seminyak, a touristy, walkable neighborhood with residencies, various kinds of stores, bars and restaurants. If you will be spending a longer time Bali I recommend staying in a more local neighborhood and visiting Seminyak for an evening out.

After we settled in, we took a leisurely stroll and stumbled into a cute restaurant, Natys Restaurant. I got a Balinese Platter and it was absolutely delicious.

The next day, Chiki and I headed off to tour a decent chunk of Bali with our guide, Ketut, through this Airbnb experience. He picked us up form the house and we drove a couple of house to the Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang Temple which has the famous Gates of Heaven.
To be honest, it is definitely glamorized for the gram using mirrors. Here's what it actually looks like *Insert photo of photographer with the mirror *Insert other photos of temple and talk about the temple Outside the temple, there a various stalls and hawkers selling local fruit. |

We were supposed to make a stop at Tirta Ganga Palace and I don't remember why we didn't but our friends did and here's a picture from their stop.

Our next stop was the Tukad Cepung Waterfall. The walk from the parking lot to the waterfall was trying! We went deep into a jungle of sorts and climbed down more stairs that I would like to remember, walked through rocks and finally found it. I love the outdoors but was not mentally prepared for the trek. If you don't like walking or don't enjoy the outdoors, this is definitely not for you. If you do, you will LOVE this stop... make sure to bring water shoes.
From the water fall, we drove another … hrs to the Luwak Coffee Plantation in Denpasar.
Kopi Luwak are a type of coffee beans that are processed through the digestive tract of a wild cat (civet) and it is the most expensive coffee in the world. We got to see one of the cats but she was sleeping so you've been blessed with a photo of her "products." Tray to the left has her poop/the beans in it's original form. Tray at the bottom has the beans after a couple of washes. Tray at the top are the beans when they are clean enough to be roasted.
We got to taste some coffees and teas while staring out into the jungle. This was quite a relaxing experience. The owners/managers of the plantation were very knowledgeable about coffee, seemed to love the cats and were very pleasant to be around. I highly recommend this stop.
Finally, Ketut took our basic asses to Ubud to swing over some some luscious greens.
We got home before our friends and stopped for local beers at Lacalaca Cantina
When they got home, we walked over to Coco Supermarket to use the ATM and top up on snacks then discovered this beautiful bottle of rice rum. We spent the night enjoying the pool, spending some quality time together and acting a damn fool.

We checked out the next day, very pleased with our short time there and with promises to return to Indonesia to see more and do more.
